Riders!! (how many posts have this title?)
Ok, again I know it is almost 2 months away but..... I was looking at campsites on the Raystown Lake Site in the Susquehannock campground for arrival on May 27 for 2 nights. I thought we could get 2 sites beside one another on the water. WRONG!!!!!! Right now, if I'm looking this up correctly, there are only 8 sites available for that weekend (in the susquehannock campground). Sites 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 32. 25 or 26 look to be about where we were last year. See the MAP .
If we still want to go that weekend we need to get a head count and start reserving sites. Remember only 2 "units" per site. So unless we are sleeping more than 1 to a tent (I will be sleeping in my tent alone) we may need quite a few campsites ($12 per night).
Let me know what you think.

I definitely plan on going and sleeping alone in my tent, so right there we filled a campsite. I'll start an email thread with Detka and Chuck to see if they are going.
ReplyDeleteOk, I booked site #32 (for me and a "probable" scott), O'har booked site #30 (for him and detka). We had to book for fri, sat, sun night since it is memorial day weekend (who knew).... We can either stay the extra night or leave on Sun. and waste the $12. Site #28 looks prime for a chris/gb site. We can build a wall and establish our own empire!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's Official, we now own the most annoying corner inside of the Susquehannock Campground. Site #28 is ours! To hell with a wall, I'm installing a moat!
ReplyDeleteThat's weird, we always end up in the most annoying section of the campground. It's not the language, it's the content....
ReplyDeleteAre you sure about the location of the campsites this year John? I don't want to get lost trying to get back to our campsite in the dark.....
ReplyDeleteThat is how people get poison ivy....
So, does anyone have a schedule in mind for the Raystown bike-o-rama? O'har mentioned taking Friday off and heading over for a ride before we set up camp (check in is 5:00 pm I believe). I'm up for anything I just need to request vacation if that is the official plan.
ReplyDeleteI am taking Friday off, so as long as someone else wants to go early also I plan to ride.
ReplyDeleteOk, Mike and I chatted. We've decided that since we both have friday off that we are going to get an early start on Friday. Our plan is to leave my house by 10:00. We'll get to raystown (with a stop at marzoni's brewery) and go for a ride, stock up on firewood, set up camp etc.
ReplyDeleteChris/GB - the two of you are both working until around 11:00 or so, right?
We were thinking a quick ride on Fri., depending on what time you guys hit camp I may be up for a quick hydro-loop run., epic ride on Sat (or maybe 2 moderates but "break time" always tends to turn out poorly for me), and a moderate on Sunday then break camp Sunday afternoon and head home.
Whew....
I can leave work whenever, but last I checked, the plan was to leave around noon. Figuring a beer/sundry stop, that will put us there sometime betwixt 4:00/4:30.
ReplyDeleteFreaking Raystown strikes again!! Spots of poison ivy all over my legs.
