OK. I will acknowledge that most of us are now badass, jaded, seasoned veterans to the Moab pilgrimage, but this is ridiculous. Here we are, just under three weeks from showtime, and our blog is as empty as John's answering machine on a Friday evening. You bitches disgust me...
Alas, GB is here for you.
THIS is for yous...
Provocative. Enticing. Delicious. Something to sleep on. To sleep, perchance to dream...
20 days, Gentlemen...

It's nice to have a filmmaker in the group. Nice way to start off a Monday morning, thanks. Love the clicky hub intro.
ReplyDeleteI think I watched the Moab video about 5 times this weekend. Is it really on 19 days away? I feel like we are delinquent in our planning but don't know what else we need to plan. I'll post the "moab pack list" from last year as well as a little doc I'm putting together with trail maps, etc. later in the week.
The real "un-f'n-acceptable" thing is that we've only had about, what? 5 or 6 group rides with the beaver crew all season. Where the F have yinz been hiding? The miller boyz are heading to raystown this weekend I'm thinking about heading out just for the day on Sat. (yep its a lot of driving for one day but it saves me the pooch-shuttle up north. Then there is always sunday and monday.
BTW... Answering machine??? Is this 1987?
Trail maps? We don't need no stinking trail maps! "We could just wait for someone else to come by..."
ReplyDeleteI have a wedding to go to Saturday. Can ride Sunday or Monday though.
Did we/they ever book more accomodations for Chuck and Jon? I can't imagine the horror the cleaning lady will encounter if we have 6 to a room in the Moab Valley Inn. Last year I wanted to tip her in diamonds for just the 4 of us.
Other than that, I think we're in pretty good shape. I just miss the constant chatter like last year leading up to the trip. I've got bike maintenance to do: new cables, chainrings, bottom bracket, cassette, chain, spoke nipples, and rebuild my seatpost. Should tackle that tonight.
As for the answering machine, I got nothing. I had just spent 3 1/2 hours in front of my computer, and I may have been slightly inhebriated. I promise to be more clever next time.
3 weeks to go so Chuck and I did a little riding Saturday in WV. All I can say is we had a helmet fly off on ground impact, a bent wheel and a left arm that couldn't be raised above the head. Better now than later.
ReplyDeleteWhat was I thinking, we've got that awesome latitude 48 (or whatever the f it is called) map. That's all we need. Oh, and some gatorade. That's all we need. And some oatmeal cream pies. That's all we need.....
ReplyDeleteHopefully Jon/Chuch didn't break anything serious we're only 17 days out not much healing time in the schedule.
I wrote a comment, but it was a post, so now I have to redo, this stuff is hard. After 5 password resets and 45 minutes, I am commenting.
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't guess, Jon is not the one that has to buy his sister a new wheel. But I am getting better all the time.
I have reserved the rooms, moab a long time ago. Hopefully the correct week, as I seem to have some issues with reservations lately.
Enough about me.....
Nice video the other day GB. My wife said I left my email on and she snooped and said she really liked it and I should actually watch it. I love the little Sesame Street stuff, but I've heard enough of that clickety hub,.... I wonder if it will break soon, maybe tomorrow after the ride when John is in the bar and his bike is in his truck.
OK, now the power rangers evil creature is blowing toxic wind out of its middle... I better go.
holy shit!!! Welcome to the blog "chuckles"
ReplyDeleteF'N awesome vid GB! Finally got a chance to watch it last night...
ReplyDeleteWe do need to do a group screening of the G.B.'s "moab or busts...." full length feature film before the trip. Could also be a shock building party (I think I need to do something about the rebound on my fork before we go)?
ReplyDeleteWelcome aboard Chuck! Glad yinz liked the video. Clearly the crash didn't leave you with too much brain damage if you've finally figured out how to post to the blog after all theses months. Also, in case you've forgotten, John, Chris and I all have the clicky hubs, so get there's really no need to sabotage John's. Unless you really want to. Im up for a "Moab or Busts..." screening whenever.
ReplyDelete15 and counting...
